
On Nov 12, 2019, a meeting was held between Cyber Security Experts and Utah Department of Public Safety, State Bureau of Investigation on what Bureau is doing to educate the public about cyber security and cyber crimes.

The meeting was lead by Sergeant Tanner Jensen. We had amazing discussion on the legal framework under which law enforcement officials are able to investigate and recommend prosecution where possible. We also got to learn how law enforcement officials respect civil liberties and privacy rights of citizens during their investigation.
The State Bureau of Investigation serves to reduce crime and increase security. Their mission is to provide professional investigative services to all people by investigating crime and working with allied agencies and the community. The State Bureau of Investigation conducts professional investigations, works closely with allied agencies and the community, and gathers, verifies, shares, and uses information and intelligence to increase public safety. The Bureau of Investigation is divided into three sections: Special Investigations, Criminal Interdiction, and Alcohol Enforcement.
