
On Nov 14, 2019, a meeting was held with Prof. Dr. Vassil Roussev, Greater New Orleans Center for Information Assuarance, University of New Orleans, Department of Computer Science, Cyber Security Program. The meeting was held at Mathematics Building, UNO.

Dr. Vassil Roussev’s research interests include: Distributed Systems — Computer Supported Cooperative Work, and on-the-spot Digital Forensics. His work in software engineering includes pattern-based techniques, component and service-based models, and agile development methods.

The University of New Orleans (UNO) has the strongest Cyber Security program in the region and is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Security Education and Research by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security – the only university holding these designations on the State of Louisiana. Research and instructions are carried out in two state of the art facilities: The Greater New Orleans Center for Information Assurance (GNOCIA) and the Networking and Security Laboratory.

During this meeting, IVLP team of Cyber Security Experts from Nepal got to visit the GNOCIA lab and to learnt about its research on information security in addition to UNO’s partnerships with the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
